ESL Instructor (Temporary/Part-time)

Department: International House (72100)

Position Status: Temporary/Contract Positions

Basic Function:

Experienced, energetic and qualified instructor needed to teach English-as-a-second language course in listening and speaking to international graduate student to improve fluency and pronunciation, articulation and discourse .

Responsibilities:

Attend teachers meeting twice a semester for about 1 hours each.
Confer with weak or in-danger of failing student to warn of failure
Conduct a cultural excursion at least twice during term
Record daily attendance and report attendance once per week
Manage recording equipment and classroom for student presentations
Prepare mid-term tests
Assist in the preparation of final exam
Report grades to ESL director

Qualifications:

  • Masters and/or graduate certificate in TEFL or related field are the requirements for the position. Ph.D.s are welcomed.
