The University of Kansas, Department of Curriculum & Teaching invites qualified professionals for a part-time, temporary Instructor/Lecturer pool. This position will teach a variety of courses offered by the department at the undergraduate and master’s level programs. Amount of work required can vary by position and will range in FTE.
Applicants will be reviewed and considered for teaching positions as needs arise. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. The successful applicant must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins.
100% – Lecturers are non-tenure-track members of the faculty. Appointments are typically short in duration over a defined time period associated with the development and/or instruction of assigned course(s). Primary role is instruction with no obligations to perform research or service. The appointment dates will be based on the timeframe of the academic semester. Generally, the appointments will be temporary. Teach one or more sections of courses in areas such as Curriculum Development, Instructional Strategies, English Education, Foreign Language Education, Literacy/Reading Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Social Studies Education, Teaching English as a Second Language, and Gifted Education.
Earned master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction or other field appropriate to subject area being taught is required to teach undergraduate courses.
Earned doctoral degree in Curriculum & Instruction or other field appropriate to subject area being taught is required to teach graduate level courses.
Prior college or relevant K-12 teaching experience.
Earned doctoral degree in Education or other field appropriate to subject area being taught.
