POSITION: Full -Time Faculty and Coordinator of Field Experiences
DEPARTMENT: Teacher Education

PRIMARY FACULTY RESPONSIBILITY of the individual selected to fill this position will be expected to perform the following responsibilities in their area of expertise: Teach graduate level credentialing and program courses in Teacher Education online, onsite, and/or in a hybrid delivery format; advise and mentor candidates of diverse cultures and backgrounds; participate in curriculum and instructional development; attend regularly scheduled institutional, regional, and statewide meetings and symposia; assist in developing schedules for courses and cohort groups; establish and maintain communities of practice; establish and maintain positive climate and relationships with faculty and staff; educate and engage adjunct faculty, candidates, and interns through formal class presentations, workshops, and trainings as necessary; analyze data and create reports on accreditation data and requirements and ensures compliance with local, state, regional, and federal policies; prepare and validate reports for local, state, regional, and federal agencies with efficiency. Ensure program and student compliance with state licensure requirements. Create, maintain, and update accurate systems to track program data ensuring compliance with state regulations. Collaborate with instructors to create and maintain ongoing program redesign in accordance with shifting accreditation standards; work with director to maintain and update assessment data, per state requirements; create reports and analyzes data for instructors; work with director to update and maintain Teacher Preparation Program policies and procedures in all documents, records, and websites.

PRIMARY CORDINATOR OF FIELD EXPERIENCES RESPONSIBILITIES serves as leader of all Teacher Preparation Program field experiences for candidates and interns in collaboration with supervisors and mentors; serves as liaison of the department to maintain MOUs with partnerships; oversees field experiences and evidence collection from interns, candidates, supervisors and mentors; maintain accurate paperwork and data that accompanies field experiences; update field experience handbooks and templates; facilitate supervisor and mentor meetings; create, maintain, and update systems to track field experiences, documentation, and dates via our Learning Management System, Schoology to ensure compliance with state regulations; analyze data and make recommendations to supervisors/mentors/program; facilitate contracts with school districts, mentors, and supervisors; collect and monitor data on qualifications, training of mentors and supervisors to ensure program quality; analyze data and make recommendations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate from a regionally accredited university in the area of teacher education or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching within the TK-12 educational system.
  • Experience teaching at the higher education level or with a credentialing program.
  • Ability to support students in teacher education and administrator preparation.
  • Ability to provide resources for addressing the needs of English Language Learners and Students with Special Needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with candidates, interns, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds and across programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellence in teaching. An exemplary record of teaching.
  • Evidence of effective teaching in higher education settings, including working with adult learners.
  • Possess a valid teaching credential.
  • An established or emerging line of applied research (including presentations at state and national conferences).
  • A record of collaboration with school districts and community partners.
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering online courses.
  • Experience in program assessment.
