The Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Rehabilitation Counseling (EDSRC) in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position in Special Education. This lecturer faculty member will provide expertise in support of both the learning and behavior disorders (LBD) and moderate and severe disabilities (MSD) programs across elementary, middle, and secondary school levels. The appointment is a nine-month appointment, effective January 1, 2018. The position is an initial two-year appointment, renewable in two-year increments.

Responsibilities include the following: Teach a four-four course load and engage with P12 and university faculty in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Special Education, experience as a P12 educator, a commitment to innovative inclusive education, effective collaboration with P12 partners in education, evidence of positively impacting student growth and achievement, and demonstration of effective instructional practices in schools. Experience in instructional technology, assistive technology, and/or supervision of practicum students or student teachers is preferred.
