The Department of Educational Psychology invites applications for two tenure track appointments at the Assistant Professor rank to begin Fall 2019. The positions are for applicants with expertise in Learning Sciences. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the continued development and success of the department, contributing through research, teaching, and mentoring of students. Instructional roles include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in traditional and online formats and potentially at satellite locations. Courses may be taught across multiple programs and to both students preparing to be practitioners and those preparing to be researchers. The successful candidates will be expected to develop or continue an ongoing research agenda in their area of specialization, including regular publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and submission of external grant proposals. Service on dissertation committees is expected, as well as representation of the discipline and department via committee participation and other relevant service activities. Specific descriptions for each position are noted below.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in a field related to the Learning Sciences (e.g., educational psychology, cognitive psychology, etc.), and a research agenda appropriate for publication in, for example, the Journal of the Learning Sciences. ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date.
