The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Dayton invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with specialization in the areas of engineering mechanics or infrastructure sustainability. The appointment is expected to begin on August 16, 2018.

All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or Engineering Mechanics. The successful candidate will have evidence of research and a record of accomplishment that demonstrates the ability to publish in refereed journals in civil engineering or engineering mechanics related areas, with emphasis on one or more areas of engineering mechanics, infrastructure sustainability and resiliency, life cycle analysis, reliability analysis, risk analysis, data mining, or machine learning. A demonstrated potential for high quality teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, strong written communication skills and demonstrated potential for collaboration across disciplines is also required.
