Responsibilities will include teaching a wide variety of courses in areas such as secondary teaching methods (both general and discipline-specific), middle level/disciplinary literacy, and educational foundations. Other responsibilities will include portfolio assessment and clinical supervision of student teaching and pre-student teaching practicum placements in a variety of clinical settings.

The Department draws from the social reconstructionist tradition in teacher education; our aim is to prepare critical, analytical, reflective teachers, who view themselves as agents of change in schools and who see teaching as a rigorous intellectual and serious moral endeavor. The Department takes pride in the diversity of its school district partnerships. The Department has a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship in order to support our students' development in the teaching profession.

Experience with implementation of edTPA is strongly preferred.
