The Faculty of Education and Social Work is a leading provider of Teacher and Social Work Education in Australia, embedded within a rich and diverse research culture. It is internationally renowned for its teaching, research and the high standing achievements of its Staff and Graduates.

The Faculty is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (level B) within its Education I-IV Program.

This Program offers core units of study across its Undergraduate Pre-service Degrees. It links professional practice to broader theoretical and contextual understandings of educational activity drawn from fields in the Social Sciences related to Education. These fields include Sociology, Human Development, Philosophy, History, Development Studies, Politics, Economics, Anthropology or some combination of these.

The Faculty currently requires expertise in the field of Human Development. You will have a broad Social Science background, enabling you to teach across the Education I-IV program. You will teach a range of subjects at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and will be expected to supervise research higher degree students. In addition, you will be expected to make a contribution to the research strengths of the Faculty, including the pursuit of research grants and regular publication in high standard journals. Supervision of students undertaking professional experience in schools is also required.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to plan, teach and assess Undergraduate units of study; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; the ability to contribute to the Faculty's expanding program of professional collaboration; a willingness to develop your skills in ICT as an effective teaching and learning tool; and, a commitment to EEO principles.

Each applicant must have or have submitted for examination, a Ph.D.

The position is full-time, continuing, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and/or confirmation period for new appointees. Membership in a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for the new appointee.

Remuneration Package: Lecturer: $90 235 - $107 154p.a. (which includes a base salary Lecturer Level B $76 250 - $90 546 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
