The University of Georgia invites applications for an Assistant level Tenure-track Position in the Program in Adult Education, a globally-recognized, Graduate level Program.
This is a 9 month, full-time position, with opportunities for employment in the summer.
Currently, the Program includes a variety of degrees: a Ph.D., Ed.D. and M.Ed. in Adult Education, as well as an M.Ed. in Human Resource and Organizational Development.
This position is officed in Athens and entails teaching online and on the Athens and Gwinnett campuses of UGA, starting on August 17, 2010.

Qualifications: Required qualifications include an earned doctorate (by July 2010) in Adult Education or a closely related area; expertise and ability to teach in Adult Education; ability to conduct scholarly research and publish in refereed journals; ability (or strong potential) to obtain external grants; ability to advise Graduate Students and direct Doctoral Degrees and dissertations; ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with agencies, internal and external to the University, to facilitate research and service; commitment to social justice and diversity; and, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable qualifications include research expertise, a record of scholarly publications and presentations at scholarly conferences and research interests and experience in Adult Learning and Development; expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research; successful teaching experience at the college or university level; and, interest in meaningful involvement in leading the future direction of the Adult Education field.
Responsibilities: Successful candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly research and publication related to Adult Education, teach in Graduate level Programs, advise students, direct dissertations and serve on Graduate Student committees, seek external grants and provide service to the University, state and profession.
