Lecturer -- Educational Foundations
The Department of Secondary Education and Youth Services at Queens College -- CUNY is searching for a full-time Lecturer, to teach Undergraduate and Graduate courses in Educational Foundations (27 credits per year) and provide advisement to students who take these courses.
The candidate will be expected to have a scholarly record and be involved in and contribute to the academic vitality of the Department, Division, College and regional and national organizations.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree, with ability to teach successfully area(s) of expertise noted below.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree by February 1, 2010 plus at least two years of teaching experience, with a strong background in the History, Sociology and Philosophy of Education.
Preference will be given to candidates with doctorates or working toward their doctorates, in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education plus college teaching experience, in courses such as History, Sociology, Anthropology and Philosophy of Education.
Salary:$40,435 - $66,431, commensurate with qualifications and experience. CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents, based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans. Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
