In addition to the Department’s innovative Programs, WSU is renowned for a strong Engineering Program that attracts international students, as well as a thriving Fine Arts Program.

The College of Education is home to 55 full-time Faculty with around 1,800 Graduate and Undergraduate Majors. The College is housed in three campus buildings, one of which is Frank Lloyd Wright designed and was fully renovated with new state-of-the-art learning technology, in 2007. The College also houses the Center for Research and Evaluation Services.

The Wichita metropolitan area, with a population area of more than 500,000, has a sizeable culturally diverse population. The city offers outstanding opportunities for academic and professional development and has a spirit of inventiveness from the aeronautics industry. There is an active arts and cultural community and it is also an easy drive to Kansas City, Oklahoma City and the Ozarks’ resort areas. It is a great place to raise a family, with a school system that offers parental choice options, sporting venues and many activities for children. Median house prices are significantly lower than in other parts of the country, as is the cost of living, overall. Wichita has large city amenities with a small town feeling.
