POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will:
A. have a doctorate in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction or Child Development, with at least 30 semester Graduate hours in Early Childhood Education;
B. have at least three years of successful public school teaching experience;
C. have extensive experience teaching at both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels, including the Ph.D. or Ed.D. levels;
D. have a record of extensive publications in national and international refereed journals;
E. have knowledge of and experience using educational technology;
F. have experience or a commitment to work with urban school systems and other systems with diverse populations, to implement high quality Early Childhood Programs; and,
G. have a track record as a principal investigator of funded grants and have a continuing commitment to seek external funding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. teach courses in the Graduate and Ph.D. Program in Early Childhood Education
B. participate in accreditation efforts
C. grant writing
D. advise Master’s, Ed.S. and Ph.D. Degree Students in Early Childhood Education
E. engage in appropriate scholarly activities
F. provide service at the University, international, national, state and local levels
G. integrate knowledge of professional standards and educational technology into the Early Childhood Education courses
H. supervision of Field Interns
