Old Dominion University's Department of Educational Leadership & Workforce Development seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor to support the undergraduate Training Specialist program and graduate Workforce & Organizational Development program. Candidates with expertise in human resource development and training, instructional systems and learning technologies, workforce development, and industrial-organizational psychology are encouraged to apply. This is a 10-month appointment beginning July 25, 2025 with opportunities for summer employment.
 
Responsibilities include:
  1. Producing high-quality research for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  2. Seeking external funding opportunities and developing and submitting grants in support of a research agenda.
  3. Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate level online courses.
  4. Advising students and directing doctoral student coursework and research.
  5. Participating in initiatives directed toward program and departmental growth and development.
The Assistant Professor will also be responsible for developing workforce development articulation agreements with business and industry, healthcare, government, educational institutions, etc. All faculty in the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness and a willingness to work in a multicultural setting, as well as a commitment to participating in program governance and decision-making.
