A Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches and provides student support services, including general oversight of all clinically-related experiences during the assigned periods. Lecturers work in and with host school districts in placing, preparing and guiding Kean education majors through their clinical fieldwork. The Lecturer ensures quality teacher preparation and professional development of teacher certification candidates; holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; attends university seminars as assigned; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and online courses/content delivery. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable.

Positions are effective for the fall semester and are based at the Union campus but require travel to off-site public school settings including Professional Development Schools (PDS) and non-PDS partner districts throughout New Jersey. Responsibilities may include assignments at Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey, the Kean Highlands Campus in Jefferson, New Jersey or other locations.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field; a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level or its equivalent experience as a public school teacher or administrator as determined by the university; appropriate State Teacher certification; and overall familiarity with K-12 school environments, NJ licensure codes and TEACHNJ is required. Candidate must also have experience and expertise with edTPA. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Transportation is required for traveling to off campus locations.
