The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling in the College of Education at Auburn University is excited to search for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position to support our Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

This position is focused on supporting the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, with the expectation that the candidate will contribute to the other programs in counselor education. The Counselor Education Program area includes four CACREP accredited programs, which include the master’s programs in:

- master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- master’s program in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling
- master’s program in School Counseling
- doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision

In addition, the department houses programs in Counseling Psychology (APA Accredited) and Special Education.

The selected candidate will be required to demonstrate teaching and professional experiences that contribute to the Clinical Mental Health specialization area and other foundation courses in counselor education, including teaching and supervision experiences in clinical practice courses (practicum and internship), crisis counseling, and student mentoring. The selected candidate will also need to demonstrate the ability to enhance the Counselor Education Programs’ mission to integrate advocacy, social justice, cultural competence, and ethical practice into the preparation of counseling professionals. This includes demonstrated engagement in professional service and leadership in counseling and community organizations. The area of research focus is open, but strong consideration will be given to candidates whose research focus integrates clinical
