The Teach North Texas Program at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a full time, 9-month lecturer position to serve as a Master Teacher. The position begins in Fall 2018. Annual reappointment is possible based on satisfactory performance.

Teach North Texas is an undergraduate secondary science, mathematics and computer science teacher education program at UNT as one of 44 national UTeach replication sites. Experienced secondary teachers collaborate with UNT faculty to train pre-service secondary teachers in the implementation of innovative best practices.

Duties of Master Teachers include teaching courses in the professional development sequence for pre-service teachers in mathematics, science, and computer science; coordination of field and clinical experiences to include orientation of mentor teachers and supervision of TNT students in the field and building community among TNT students, faculty, and school personnel.

Either –
1. Undergraduate mathematics degree AND a masters degree in curriculum and instruction, education/secondary education or equivalent, which must include at least 18 advanced hours in mathematics.
OR
2. Undergraduate secondary mathematics education degree AND a masters degree in mathematics, which must include at least 18 advanced hours in curriculum and instruction, education/secondary education, or equivalent.

Additionally, a valid teaching certificate and at least three (3) years of secondary public school teaching experience in mathematics or computer science is required.

Applicants must have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and experience supervising pre-service and/or in-service teachers.
