Job Summary: The Instructional Technologist will work with faculty and other members of the instructional design team in the planning, design, development, implementation, delivery and maintenance of courses and educational experiences for all students in online, hybrid, and on-campus classroom formats.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  •      Supports faculty in the effective and appropriate use of technology for teaching online and hybrid courses, including the use of the university’s course management system, media, collaboration/web-conferencing tools and other instructional technologies
  •     Assists faculty to further their instructional goals by designing, developing, testing and implementing
    instructional technology systems and promotes use of technology systems used for teaching and learning
  •     Develops and conducts training workshops on instructional technology
  •     Collaborate with faculty (subject matter expe1is) to develop instructional materials
  •     Collaborate with the course design team in course content development
  •     Integrate effective educational technologies into a variety of subject matter across multiple disciplines
  •      Prepares and uploads course components course-syllabus, learning outcomes, course content, and interactive activities
  •      Consults with faculty to further instructional collaboration, content delivery, access to new media, and
    assessment and manage faculty support requests
  •     Investigate and recommend new instructional technologies
  •     Uses video cameras and audio & video technologies
  •     Proficient in the use of: Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Captivate, Articulate Presenter, Articulate Engage, Flipbook, Storyline, Prezi, Final Cut, Word & Power Point
  •     Analyzes course content, interprets instructional media needs and requests, and collaborates with course
    development teams in the planning of advanced instructional media elements for individual courses.
  •     Has familiarity with simulations, AR, VR, AI, Second Life, etc.
  •     Designs and develops engaging and interactive instructional media elements using instructional design and multimedia technologies to support student learning
  •      Creates and manages course media components including simulations, tutorials, scenarios, animations,
    presentation, interactives, videos, and images using appropriate multimedia software. Resolves multimedia course Issues.
  •     Develops course graphic elements using layout principles and aesthetic design concepts
  •     Reviews media contents for technology and copyright compliance
  •     Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Instructional Technology, Technology, Media Design, Graphic Design or related field
3+ years related experience. Expertise with design and media development tools.
Competency with Windows OS and/or Mac OS
Knowledgeable of Learning Management Systems
Expertise with design and media development tools
Ability to use of Adobe Creative-Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere & After Effects, Articulate StoryLine, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, as well as Camtasia, Captivate, and Microsoft Office
Ability to develop multimedia that supports course content
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledgeable of instructional design models and multimedia development technologies
Excellent time management and project management skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration
Ability to communicate technical information to a diversified audience

Preferred Qualifications:

  •     Master’s Degree preferred
  •     Online learning experience
  •     Video and audio recording and editing experience
  •     At least 4 years of experience in the Instructional Technology field
  •     Experience developing interactive instructional materials and learning objects

Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience
