The Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches, oversees students’ clinical experiences and provides student support services for the duration of the contract period. The Lecturer ensures quality teacher preparation and professional development; supervises, observes and provides relevant feedback to clinical students on classroom performance; teaches developmental skills related to planning, instruction and assessment that are aligned with the requirements of the edTPA, as well as career readiness skills, resume and interview strategies related to job employment; works as part of an instructional team, collaborating with other faculty and staff; maintains office and advising hours for students; attends university seminars as assigned; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and online courses/content delivery. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable.

Positions are effective for the fall semester and are based at the Union campus but require travel to off-site public school settings including Professional Development Schools (PDS) and non-PDS partner districts throughout New Jersey. Responsibilities may include assignments at Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey, the Kean Skylands Campus in Jefferson, New Jersey or other locations.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field; a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level or its equivalent experience as a public school teacher or administrator as determined by the university; Principal, School Administrator or Supervisor Certificate in the related field of expertise from the State of New Jersey; and overall familiarity with K-12 school environments and edTPA. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Transportation is required for traveling to off campus locations.
