The Department of International Affairs seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Summer 2020 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
The anticipated need is for ESL Adjunct Instructors whose duties may include, but are not limited to teaching two IELI courses selected from Communication (Levels 1-6) and Writing/Grammar (Levels 1-6) at 20 contact hours per week. The assignment may include curriculum development, participation in committees, student activities, faculty meetings and other activities to support the program.

Master’s degree in TESOL or closely related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESL at a university-based IEP
Experience teaching all language skills
Successful experience adapting classroom content to better serve students’ needs
Proven ability to adiust to different cultures and work environments
