About the Position
The Education Program seeks a dynamic and thoughtful educator for a one year position, with the possibility of continuation, that spearheads the field experience and outward facing components of our graduate and undergraduate programs.
The Assistant Director for Fieldwork & Outreach is a key member of the Teacher Education Program leadership team and contributor to the Education Program as a whole. The person in this position guides all aspects of fieldwork in the Education Program: This includes establishing, monitoring, and maintaining productive fieldwork for all elementary and secondary school student-teaching Interns (aka teacher candidates), as well as for undergraduates taking experiential learning and internship courses in the Education Program. This position offers the opportunity to deepen and expand all outreach efforts, including: existing university and program partnerships; community and alumni engagement; and possibly recruitment.
Overseeing fieldwork includes: managing the teacher licensure requirements for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), and determining whether students have earned course credits for their fieldwork. The Assistant Director for Fieldwork and Outreach serves as a field Instructor (supervisor) for 2 student- teachers per year
For the qualified candidate, there could be additional, compensated, opportunities to teach education courses.
Position compensation approx. $61k (not including teaching).
Full time, one year position, with the possibility of continuation. Ideal start date is summer or fall, 2022.

Experience in teacher education or higher education
Ability to manage, organize, and interpret data and information
Educational preparation: Master’s degree or doctorate in education
Sense of their own positionality in the broader culture of schools and schooling
Commitment to building diverse and inclusive learning communities.
Candidates who demonstrate the following would be preferred:
Experience in a wide range of school contexts, particularly Massachusetts public schools
Experience in Supervision and/or Mentoring of novice teachers
Experience with and skill in social media and networking
