Administrative Exempt Positions
The Instructional Technology Specialist provides faculty, staff, and students with the support necessary to use instructional technologies to enhance teaching and student learning through the use of polling and survey tools, the LMS, lecture capture and video tools, web conferencing, and ePortfolios.
[*] Support faculty, staff, and students with the selection, application, and deployment of instructional technology tools to support teaching and learning (both campus-based and distance learning)
[*] Support classes, projects, and events using the Universitys online survey research and data collection platform, including outreach and training activities.
[*] Support classes, projects, and events using polling and clickers, including outreach efforts, training activities, support requests, and distribution of clicker devices and/or mobile license codes.
[*] Collaborate with other departments on the use of the institutional ePortfolio platform to offer outreach and training activities and to triage support to the vendor.
[*] Identify technology training needs of faculty and students and collaborate with other staff to deliver training workshops.
[*] Develop documentation for faculty, staff, and students on the use of instructional technologies.
[*] Contribute to the teams collaborative management, training, and support of the campus Learning Management System including responding to tickets and coordinating with IT and Service Desk staff.
[*] Stay abreast of emerging trends in the area of instructional technology, and when appropriate, make recommendations to the Director of the Technology for Teaching & Learning group.
[*] Other duties as assigned.
[*] Bachelor of Science degree in information technology, instructional technology, or related field.
[*] Experience in use and support of current technologies (Learning Management Systems, ePortfolio platforms, lecture capture and video tools, synchronous and asynchronous communication tools, polling and survey tools, etc.) and integrating them into classroom and distance learning courses in an educational setting.
[*] Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.
[*] Experience working with users with a wide variety of technical ability.
[*] Candidate must be customer service driven; have excellent project management, communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills; must be able to adapt quickly to situations as they arise; have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
