Job Description Summary
The department of Curriculum and Teaching in College of Education at Auburn University seeks to fill a non-tenured 12-month position as Clinical Assistant Professor in Agriscience Education
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agricultural education. They will also be responsible for managing the agricultural mechanical facilities, serving on graduate committees, and assisting in the advising of graduate students.
RANK/SALARY: Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track, twelve-month contract) at a salary commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Minimum one-year contract, renewable yearly.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication (or related field) by hiring date.
- Three years, minimum, classroom experience as a certified school-based agricultural educator holding a current agricultural education teaching license in the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an agricultural mechanics facility.
- Including: experience managing equipment, project planning/design, maintaining inventories, purchasing, scheduling, and facility supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to teach modern agricultural mechanics courses and skills.
- Including, but not limited to: power systems, home/farm electrification, wood construction, and hot metal work.
- Experience with emerging and innovative technologies in agricultural mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to successfully advise student research.
- Demonstrated ability to advise student professional organizations in agriculture (e.g. ATA, ΓΣΔ, AE, FAST, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to collaborative efforts between agricultural leadership, education, communications, and extension faculty.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on a fast paced and active team.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching agricultural education preservice teachers.
- Experience supervising preservice school-based agricultural education
- Experience with recruitment.
- Research and scholarship experience in agricultural leadership, education, and communications.
