Position Announcement
Utah Valley University invites applications for an Education full-time faculty position to teach the Creative Arts courses. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of teacher education principles and practices as well as years of relevant K-12 teaching experience. This individual will teach undergraduate courses in Creative Arts Integration to include elementary dance, drama, music, and visual art to students majoring in Elementary Education and potentially other courses as deemed appropriate per training and experience. The position will begin August 1st, 2023.

The UVU School of Education currently offers undergraduate degrees in teacher education, a minor in autism studies, graduate degrees in educational leadership, school counseling, applied behavior analysis, and graduate certificates and endorsements. These degrees help fill the growing demand for educator professionals across the state of Utah. Summary of Responsibilities
Duties will include:
1. Teach undergraduate teacher education courses (approximately 30 credits over fall and spring semesters)
2. Conference with students regarding coursework, fieldwork, and academic endeavors
3. Improve professionally and maintain currency in the courses taught
4. Engage with partner school district teachers and administrators in clinical teacher preparation
5. Follow professional and ethical standards
6. Provide service to the college and community

Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a masters degree in a field closely related to the field of instruction
  • At least three years of K-12 experience relevant to the teaching assignment
  • Earned professional license or credentials relevant to the teaching assignment

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • College/university teaching experience
  • Elementary Arts endorsement
