JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Mass Academy is seeking a part-time Physical Education Teacher to lead weekly PE classes that promote wellness, fitness, and healthy habits for high-achieving high school students. This temporary, on-site role supports our commitment to student well-being and balance during the fall semester.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness, health education, teamwork, and stress relief.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where students of all fitness levels feel safe and motivated to participate.
- Emphasize individual and cooperative activities that complement Mass Academy's focus on student well-being and balance.
- Encourage lifelong healthy habits through varied physical activities such as cardio and team sports.
- Collaborate with staff to align wellness programming with broader school initiatives.
- Maintain appropriate safety standards and supervision in all physical activities.
- Uphold and model the values of respect, equity, and responsibility in every aspect of instruction and student interaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Massachusetts teaching licensure in Physical Education (grades 5-12) or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience teaching high school students, particularly in a nontraditional or academically advanced setting, is a plus.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- A passion for wellness education and commitment to supporting the whole student.
