The Department of Educational Leadership Studies in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track, assistant professor position, Regular Title Series. The nine-month appointment is effective August 16, 2020.
The Department of Educational Leadership Studies is a professional community dedicated to high quality teaching and the promotion of research and scholarly activity that supports the preparation and development of P-16 educational leaders.
The successful applicant will be expected to serve as a generalist and teach courses across graduate programs (MEd, EdS, EdD, PhD), teach courses online, advise doctoral students and serve on doctoral student committees, represent the department on college and university committees, and participate in national and international professional organizations and state initiatives. Candidates should be able to work in a collaborative environment and be prepared to co-teach with peers and practitioners in innovative contexts.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD) in educational leadership and administration or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate or show promise for establishing a record of research and scholarship, service to the field, and ability to secure extramural funding to support the mission of the college. Expertise is required in two or more of the following areas: direct school leadership experience, the capacity to teach core courses across educational leadership programs, competency to teach research methods, ability to teach online and advise doctoral students. Candidates must be committed to engaging collaboratively with department and college peers and professional colleagues within the field as well as the local and international community with regard to building school-university community partnerships.
