Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Maintain and further develop the academic programs in the department of elementary and secondary education
Represent the department in school and university matters
Vigorously seek and support faculty involvement in acquiring grants and additional funding in support of departmental programs
Oversee the recruitment and evaluation of faculty
Manage the department’s budget
Interpret and administer policies and procedures relating to Rules of the Alabama State Board of Education
Promote and conduct scholarly pursuits within the department
Plan for necessary curriculum laboratory resources for the department
Make faculty work assignments in collaboration with the faculty and the Dean
Oversee the planning and coordination of course offerings within the department
Doctorate in Elementary Education.
Successful teaching experience at the College/University level and teaching experience within a multicultural environment.
Commensurate with education, training and experience
Additional Position Information:
Travel is generally limited to observing Pre-Clinical/Clinical teaching observations in designated Methods courses/Internship.
