Salary range: A reasonable full-time salary estimate for this position is $70,977-$120,835.

Percent time: Part-Time: 50% FTE

Position description

The Berkeley School of Education (BSE) at the University of California, seeks a qualified temporary non-tenure track, part-time Instructional Facilitator (Teacher - Special Programs or TSP) to provide support through the Berkeley Teacher Education Program for alumni engaging in teacher action research as part of our developing BTEP Alumni Network, as well as developing and facilitating other targeted support groups for BTEP alumni in their early years of teaching.

As part of the Facilitator's responsibilities, duties will include delivering instruction and support for a range of BTEP Alumni activities, including development, launch and maintenance of alumni teacher action research inquiry groups, and targeted early teacher support groups for BTEP graduates.

The initial expected work assignments for this position will be from January to May . This position is eligible for reappointment with following work assignments normally covering the academic year from August to May each year.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience.
  • Valid Clear California Teaching Credential.
  • Experience with coaching teachers and/or other forms of new teacher support.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with the application of liberatory, anti-racist, critical, and transformative pedagogies and theories and/or a commitment to learn.
  • MA degree and/or experience engaging in classroom inquiry.
  • Experience with group facilitation.
  • Experience with program coordination across school, district, school administration, and classroom teachers.
  • Experience with event planning.
