The Department of Educational Psychology invites applications for a tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank to begin Fall 2020. The interdisciplinary position is for an applicant with expertise in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) and a strong research agenda related to giftedness, talent development, and/or creativity. The faculty member will support both the HDFS and Gifted and Talented Education (GT) concentrations. The primary instructional role will be with HDFS, but the faculty member will also advise GT dissertations and contribute to that concentration as appropriate relative to the research focus.
The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development and success of the department and growing the HDFS and GT concentrations through research, teaching, and mentoring of students. Instructional roles include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in HDFS and/or other courses as needed in the department, in both traditional and online formats, and potentially at satellite locations. The successful candidate will be expected to sustain an ongoing research agenda in their area of specialization, including regular publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and submission of external grant proposals. Service on dissertation committees is expected, as well as representation of the discipline and department via committee participation and other relevant service activities.
