The Department of Teacher Education and Administration (TE&A) in the College of Education at The University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for several full time, open rank tenured/tenure-track positions, including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and/or Full Professor in Educational Leadership beginning Fall 2020 semester. Of particular interest across the College of Education are candidates who are committed to improving people’s lives through powerful learning, social-emotional wellness, physical health, civic engagement, and social justice.

Responsibilities include teaching doctoral and masters courses offered at the UNT campus, other off-site locations (e.g., Frisco, University Center Dallas), and online; advising graduate students and supervising internships as needed; serving on and chairing doctoral committees; maintaining an active research agenda; seeking grant funding; and providing service to the Department, College, University, community constituencies, and professional organizations. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding.

Required Qualifications at the Assistant Rank: (1) Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership (or a related field); ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date; (2) Experience with culturally and/or linguistically diverse populations and a demonstrated assets-based perspective on those populations; (3) Evidence of a research agenda; and (4) Evidence of research dissemination.

Required Qualifications at the Associate Rank: (1) Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership (or a related field); (2) Experience with culturally and/or linguistically diverse populations and a demonstrated assets-based perspective on those populations; (3) Excellence in university teaching experience; (4) Evidence of a nationally recognized cohesive research agenda and publication record commensurate with rank; (5) Evidence of membership on or chairing of doctoral dissertations; (6) Evidence of successful experience in leadership positions at department, college, and university; and (7) Evidence of the participation in (at least) the development of externally funded grant proposals. Applicants for associate professor must meet UNT’s criteria for tenure at the associate level.

Required Qualifications at the Professor Rank: (1) Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership (or a related field); (2) Experience with culturally and/or linguistically diverse populations and a demonstrated assets-based perspective on those populations; (3) Excellence in university teaching experience; (4) Evidence of a nationally recognized research agenda and publication record commensurate with rank; (5) Evidence of chairing of doctoral dissertations; (6) Evidence of successful experience in leadership positions at department, college, university, and professional organization; (7) Successful procurement of externally funded grants. Applicants for full professor must meet UNT’s criteria for tenure at the full professor level.
