The Division of Education is renowned for innovative approaches to both education and educational research and committed to enhancing education through the three interconnected disciplines of teaching, research and professional learning.
Te Kura Toi Tangata School of Education is seeking to appoint a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Education who can contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision. The appointee will join a team focused on supporting students to recognise local and global cultural diversity and to work in culturally appropriate ways with diverse others in contexts where educational outcomes are sought.
A broad and in-depth knowledge of education, social and historical aspects of education and educational policy is essential as well as a research record of sustained excellence and a recognised contribution to the academic field appropriate to the level of position applied for are essential. A PhD is required at Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer level and preferred at Lecturer level. A recognised teaching qualification and current practicing certificate is preferred. Applicants should indicate their particular discipline areas of strength.
The University is committed to Māori and Pacific learner success. An understanding and appreciation of cross cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples’ culture is preferred. Qualified and experienced Pacific scholars will be considered for a leadership role within our Division to support Pacific programmes and students.
This position can be based in Hamilton or Tauranga.
Current salary range for Lecturer is NZ$75,514 to $90,946 per year, Senior Lecturers NZ$93,544 to $123,726 per year and Associate Professors NZ$124,726 to $137,718 per year dependent on qualifications and experience.
