Job Description Summary
The College of Education at Auburn University announces a a 1-year Visiting Assistant Professor appointment within the Educational Research, Methods, and Analysis program. The candidate will be responsible for a 4/4 or an 85% teaching load and a 15% service/outreach responsibility. The primary role of this position will be to teach graduate courses in our Educational Research, Methods, and Analysis program.
The EFLT department supports the College of Education’s commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by ensuring that students participate in theoretical, applied and practitioner-based research enhancing the fields of adult education, higher education, educational leadership, educational media and educational psychology.
Responsibilities would include:
(1) undergraduate and graduate teaching
(2) possible engagement in an active research program commensurate with time allocation
(3) service to the profession
Minimum Qualifications
(1) An earned doctorate in Educational Research Methods, Measurement, Evaluation, or closely related area at time of employment
(2) Evidence of expertise in quantitative methodology
(3) Evidence of strong potential for excellence in teaching
(4) Meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment
(5) Excellent communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
(1) Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
(2) Experience with educational assessment practice, quantitative methods, mixed methods research, or program evaluation
(3) Ability and experience collaborating with schools and school-based researchers
(4) Working with graduate students on research projects
(5) Evidence of scholarly productivity commensurate with experience
(6) Experience teaching and developing distance education courses.
