Department Summary
The College of Education has a dynamic, growing research environment. It is anticipated that the Proposal Manager will play a key role in expanding funded research outputs in COE and work closely with the Associate Dean for Research on strategic targets. This is an in-person role on the UNT-Denton campus.

Position Overview
This individual will manage the development of large research grants in the College of Education. The projects they are approved to support will be determined by the COE Dean’s Office.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of progressively responsible professional-level related experience in proposal submission activities in pursuit of private, local, state, or federal grants or contracts, which includes demonstrated crafting of proposals in response to competitive solicitations that were awarded funding from federal government agencies; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A minimum of two years of successful experience must be applied to an equivalent combination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills, and techniques to communicate with various constituents (e.g., faculty, staff, community partners) with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Strong proposal writing experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills writing original content and editing.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify key components of an RFP and use them to develop the tools needed to ensure compliance for each proposal effort.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain clear, consistent, timely, and effective communication with proposal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in management of small to large, complex proposal efforts.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in one of the fields represented by the College of Education.
Knowledge of research activities of current College of Education faculty.
