Required Qualifications: 1) Earned doctorate in Early Childhood Education or related field or ABD with the dissertation successfully defended within one month of employment;2) three or more years of successful birth to grade 3 teaching experience or equivalent; 3) an active program of research or potential for an active program of research. A candidate must provide evidence of ability to work collaboratively with groups such as faculty, university students, communities, tribal nations and governmental agencies to demonstrate culturally responsive and inclusive values with a social justice orientation.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest in working closely with early childhood lab schools rich in cultural and linguistic diversity (for EC position) and on-site, public school practicum (for SPED position); ability to incorporate educational technologies (e.g., Canvas) into teaching; and the ability and/or disposition to work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations in the borderlands. Fluency or some utilization of the Spanish language or a language of the Indigenous Peoples of the Southwest preferred.

Examples of Duties: Teaching face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses; involvement in field-based experiences; advise/mentor undergraduate/master’s/doctoral students; conduct research and seek grant funding. Participate in service activities and perform other duties as needed.
