Position Summary

The Department of Education & Counseling at Villanova University invites applications for a Continuing Non-Tenure Track Professor of Counseling to begin in the Fall of 2018. The counseling program is CACREP-accredited, offers master-level school and clinical mental health counseling degrees, as well as an undergraduate counseling minor. Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Counselor Education and will be qualified to teach clinical skills and theory as well as the Clinical Mental Health internship and practicum courses. The candidate will hold an LPC and have at least 2-years of post-license clinical experience. Experience working within multiple modalities and with diverse populations is preferred, as is passion for and experience in teaching in higher education.
The position will entail teaching evening graduate courses, advising students, supervising students during their practicum and internship experiences, and developing new partnerships and maintaining existing relationships with clinical sites. The teaching load would consist of four courses each semester with an option to teach during the summer; faculty are asked to infuse training in multicultural competencies throughout all courses in the curriculum. Courses to be taught may include: Clinical Counseling Skills, Ethics, Practicum, Internship, Clinical Mental Health Orientation, and other courses as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1) an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP program; 2) passion for and success teaching in higher education settings; 3) demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness; 4) passion for and successful experiences in clinical practice; 5) excitement to join a team of conscientious counselor educators
