The Department of Teacher Education and Administration (TE&A) in the College of Education at The University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a full time, Assistant Professor (tenured/tenure-track) position in Educational Leadership beginning Fall 2020 semester. Of particular interest across the College of Education are candidates who are committed to improving people’s lives through powerful learning, social-emotional wellness, physical health, civic engagement, and social justice.

Responsibilities: Teaching doctoral and masters courses offered at the UNT campus, other off-site locations (e.g., Frisco, University Center Dallas), and online; advising graduate students and supervising internships as needed; serving on and chairing doctoral committees; maintaining an active research agenda; seeking grant funding; and providing service to the Department, College, University, community constituencies, and professional organizations. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include (1) Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership (or a related field); ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date; (2) Experience with culturally and/or linguistically diverse populations and a demonstrated assets-based perspective on those populations; (3) Evidence of a research agenda; and (4) Evidence of research dissemination.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate (1) Research agenda focused on marginalized populations similar to those found in Texas and/or policy research on topics of contemporary urgency, such as teacher workforce issues; (2) Experience in EC-12 education settings that serve historically disadvantaged populations common in Texas; (3) Teaching experience in higher education; and (4) Experience in externally funded activities.
