Education - General Organization and Leadership Administration/Supervision
West Texas A&M University (WTAMU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the Associate or full Professor rank. This position is a nine (9) month tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Professor level within the College of Education and Social Sciences, Department of Education, for the newly launched online Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. The faculty member will teach doctoral and master’s classes, conduct research, chair doctoral committees, serve on doctoral committees, and engage in professional service. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The position reports to the Department of Education Head.
Teach six (6) hours of graduate educational leadership and/or higher education courses in the
fall/spring semesters, spring/summer semesters, or summer/fall semesters
Chair and serve on scholarly delivery committees in the EDLD doctoral program, provide
guidance in research design, writing an IRB, conducting research, composing literature reviews,
and analyzing and interpreting data, and guiding the writing process
Engage in research and shared research publications with graduate candidates and graduate
EDLD faculty. Collaborate in outreach efforts with area school districts and community colleges
and contribute to WTAMU’s growth as a research university
Demonstrate accomplished writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
Rank of Associate or Full Professor
A demonstrated scholarship record at the Associate and/or Professor level
Experience chairing doctoral committees
Terminal degree in educational leadership, higher education, or a related field
Demonstrated experience either in qualitative or quantitative analysis methodologies
Experience and excellence in teaching in an online environment
Success in supporting students in their learning, implementation, and presentation of doctoral
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: policy, large data sets, decision-making,
organizational theory, educational leadership theory and practice, rural school leadership,
Commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to research and educational programming
Excellence in written and oral communication skills
Strong interest in online teaching and designing online courses for adult learning
Supportive interpersonal and teaching skills with ability to communicate in a timely manner
Appreciation for interdisciplinary research and knowledge.
