Job Description

Associate Director for Education Research, Teaching and Learning Center (TLC)
 

Working under the supervision of the Director of TLC, the Associate Director will develop and support education research activities at Stevens. The Associate Director will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop proposals for education research and conduct research programs that are funded. The position will be a member of the newly created office and will have the opportunity to design the roadmap for education research at Stevens.


Areas of Responsibility
• Write proposals for education research to secure funding from government agencies, private foundations, or corporate sponsors independently or in close collaboration with faculty.

• Conduct or support the research activities for the funded projects.

• Support the proposal writing for faculty members whose research requires educational activities as a part of the proposals.

• Continuously look for and inform faculty about opportunities for funding in education research.

• Working under the supervision of the center director to provide support for the functions of the center such as: coordinating the logistics for all TLC programs, including creating promotional materials, registration forms, and application forms; reserving event space; sending regularly scheduled announcement emails; managing registrations; reviewing applications; ensuring staff coverage for each event; creating and distributing post-event surveys; and responding to inquiries about programs.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in education research or related field is required.
  • Minimum of five-year experience and strong track record in education research
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact confidently with faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Experience with program development, management, and assessment
  • Proven ability to produce error-free promotional materials, including email announcements and flyers
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Experience using Microsoft Forms, Google Forms, and/or SurveyMonkey
  • Ability to learn how to use additional software, systems, and programs as needed
