The Department of Education at Flagler College invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Education with a specialization in Reading to begin in August 2020.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Reading/Literacy Instruction or Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. A record of effective teaching experience in higher education is required. Candidates should also have a demonstrated record of teaching elementary reading in the K-6 public setting. A teaching load of 4 sections per semester is expected in support of the Reading Endorsement, including the following courses: Children’s Literature, Diagnostic Reading, and Elementary Reading Instruction. Additional responsibilities include an active professional development agenda, college service, academic mentoring and advising.

Flagler College is an independent, co-educational college with an enrollment of 2,500 students. The College is located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, approximately 35 miles south of Jacksonville and 55 miles north of Daytona Beach.  Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
