A Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; supports all candidates’ successful preparation for teacher certification; provides support for testing processes; coordinates support for internal processes including information sessions and orientations; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; performs responsibilities related to accreditation and assessment initiatives; and does related work as required.

This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses/content delivery. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Positions are based at the Union campus but require travel to off-site locations. Responsibilities may include assignments at Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey, the Kean Highlands Campus in Jefferson, New Jersey or other locations.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level or its equivalent experience as a public school teacher or administrator as determined by the university is required. State Teacher Certification; knowledge of processes and requirements for NJ State Teacher Certification; and overall familiarity with K-12 school environments is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Transportation is required for traveling to off campus locations.
