Job Description
The Mathematics Immersion Program (MIP) is a three-week summer residential program conducted each year on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology. MIP is sponsored by the State of New Jersey, Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program and coordinated through the STEP department. MIP is open only to EOF undergraduates currently enrolled in New Jersey colleges and universities.
MIP’s primary goals include helping EOF students to improve their mathematics proficiency and related skills, develop their college survival and success skills, and provide them with career development assistance.
Instructor Positions
Candidates should have at least a Masters degree in the subject area or related field, and possess at minimum 2 years teaching experience. Five years or more teaching experience will be accepted in lieu of the Masters degree. Prior experience working with students from underserved communities is desired. The instructors will provide college prep or college level coursework, design and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of the students and which introduces them to practical real life, and professional development applications.
