What You'll Do
The Educational Program Development Director is responsible for developing strategies and plans to implement recommendations for programmatic offerings and curriculum. Partners with marketing, communications, and student affairs staff to increase program enrollment and improve market position, as well as work with the Dean for Educational Affairs and Friedman School leadership to achieve a set of educational programs that reflect the school’s goal to educate future global leaders in the fields of nutrition science and policy. The Development Director will also handle the below duties:
- Assesses current and potential residential, online, and blended programs for viability and pedagogy.
- Analyzes relevant data related to educational trends and market conditions, focusing on nutrition science and policy.
- Obtains relevant information from current students and alumni regarding program and course strengths, quality, relevance, and on curricular and programmatic gaps and shortcomings.
- Conducts market analyses working with strategic University and School partners (such as the University offices for Business Development and Communications and Marketing, other Tufts schools, and Friedman School academic leaders and offices for marketing, communications, faculty affairs, and student affairs).
- Leads development of new curriculum offerings, from individual classes to new degree programs, at the Friedman School.
- Develops metrics for program performance and evaluation.
- Teaches 1-2 courses per year in nutrition science and policy, in area commensurate with experience.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Master’s degree with 5+ years of related experience developing and implementing academic programs in a relevant field
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills with excellent needs assessment, synthesis of findings into persuasive recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD and 3-5 years relevant experience
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
This is a hybrid position expected to expectation to be on campus 2-3 days per week.
Pay Range
Minimum $93,200.00, Midpoint $116,500.00, Maximum $139,800.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
