West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:
The Department of Career-Technical Education in the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, seeks to hire a full-time, non-tenure-track teaching assistant professor. The position is 12-mo, full-time, and benefits-eligible.
The successful candidate will provide assistance to new and experienced Career-Technical Education teachers through on-site visitation and supervision of course work; develop and coordinate activities to meet specific personnel and/or certification needs; teach blended and online Career Technical Education courses as assigned; recruit and advise degree candidates; work as an integral member of departmental team to maintain a disciplined, consistent state-wide program; and perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair. The position requires regular, extensive travel throughout a region of counties, the boundaries of which may change from year to year based on new teacher enrollment. The successful candidate will maintain a regional office and report to the Beckley Campus for meetings, faculty training and other occasions as needed.

The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Education or field related to Career and Technical Education and three or more years teaching experience in the WV Public School system. A valid driver’s license is also required.
