    • Base Salary Academic Level B/C $113,184 - $159,867 per annum + 17% superannuation

    About the opportunity

    The Sydney School of Education and Social Work in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is seeking an academic who can bring a developing reputation for excellence in the field of educational leadership. As the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Educational Leadership, you will make a strong contribution to the school by actively contributing to research and scholarship as well as a developing involvement in academic debate, policy development and innovation in educational leadership within the University and beyond.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • contribute to the research capacity and productivity of the educational leadership program

    • produce scholarship through original and innovative research

    • engage in a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to theory, policy and practice

    • design, teach, assess, and coordinate and contribute to postgraduate and undergraduate units of study and contribute to innovation in the design and delivery of award and non-award programs

    • consolidate and further develop community engagement and partnerships

    • contribute to service and academic administration in the School

    • enhance the competitive funding profile of educational leadership through research and professional learning partnerships

    • contribute to a positive workplace culture within the School/ Faculty in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled and interacts with students, staff and other members of the University community in a professional, collegial and respectful manner


    About you

    Candidates for Level B must meet the below criteria to be eligible for appointment. At Level C, candidates must also meet the stated criteria for Level C.

    • a PhD or equivalent research doctorate in a relevant field of study.

    • a professional qualification in education with professional practice in educational leadership

    • demonstrate contribution to scholarship in educational leadership, independently, or as part of a team. At Level C, be acknowledged at national level as influential in expanding knowledge, or pedagogical and curriculum practice within the field of educational leadership

    • demonstrated experience developing strong teamwork and networks in either teaching and improved practice, or research and translational research partnerships. At Level C, demonstrated translational research and collaboration with external partners for commercialisation, improved practice, and policy

    • teaching experience demonstrating commitment to curriculum design, innovative pedagogy and program and self-evaluation with evidence of improved outcomes. At Level C, experience of leadership of undergraduate or postgraduate coursework, and record of research supervision

    • commitment and contribution to collaboration and collegiality demonstrated in academic governance, leadership, and engagement. At Level C, demonstrated leadership in mentoring, academic governance, leadership, and engagement.
