  • Funded PhD position in Robotics & Mechatronics

    One fully funded PhD position in the Healthcare Robotics and Telesurgery (HeaRT) lab at the University of Louisville (https://hrtlab.github.io/), Kentucky, USA starting January 2025.


    Qualification Type: Undergraduate/Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, computer science/engineering


    Location: USA; University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky


    Funding for: Any student meeting Qualifications: US students, International students with valid visa


    Funding: Fully funded position with Graduate Teaching Assistantship (including tuition, health insurance, and stipend) for two years


    Starting Semester: Spring 2025


    *Looking for candidates with:​​
      *   interest or experience with ROBOTICS and/or MECHATRONICS
      *   interest or experience with coding such as MATLAB, Python/C++, LABVIEW, or ROS
      *   interest or experience in CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, AUTODESK INVENTOR/FUSION 360, AUTOCAD and electronics design software like AUTODESK EAGLE
      *   strong mechanical/electrical modeling skills
      *   excellent English oral and writing skills


    The research will focus on healthcare and medical robotics design, mathematical modeling and control.
    The position will involve using rapid prototyping tools like 3D-printing, laser cutting, etc. along with embedded electronics to build and study medical robots for a variety of novel applications.
