    Job Description Summary


    The School of Aviation, College of Liberal Arts, Auburn University, Alabama, is seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Professor, tenure track position in the School of Aviation. This is an academic, non-flight position. The school offers courses of instruction to support an undergraduate degree in Professional Flight and Aviation Management. Auburn University is committed to teaching, research, and outreach. It provides outstanding opportunities to faculty who want to be part of an institution dedicated to serving the multicultural population of the state and region. The School of Aviation offers a collegial environment with mentoring opportunities to nurture the teaching and research of new faculty. Starting date: August 16, 2025.

    Responsibilities:
    (a) Instructing undergraduate students in flight education and aviation management.

    (b) Creating and implementing distance education programs in flight education and aviation management.

    © Engaging in research, development, and outreach activities related to flight education, aviation management, and related fields.

    (d) Supporting and mentoring students to ensure their academic and professional success in aviation.

    (e) Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including aviation and education-related government agencies, accreditation bodies, and industry organizations.

    Minimum Qualifications


    (a) An earned Doctor of Philosophy in aviation or a related allied field at the time employment begins.

    (b) Proven excellence in undergraduate instruction.

    © Proven experience in integrating technology into education and developing distance education programs.

    (d) Demonstrated ability or potential to maintain an active program of scholarly research.

    (e) Demonstrated ability to engage in program design and development activities.

    (f) Proven ability to support and mentor students, helping them achieve academic and professional success.

    (g) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.

    Desired Qualifications


    (a) Experience in aviation curriculum analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, focused on collaborative and student-centered approaches.

    (b) Demonstrated ability to innovate and successfully develop new initiatives, programs, and projects from the ground up.
