Research for Dr. Healy includes being a Co-Investigator on a National Science Foundation Grant entitled Factors Related to Teacher Retention in Arctic Alaska. Dr. Healy has received several technology grants to create an assistive technology library at the SOE computer lab and recently, acquired two humanoid robots through Provost Technology in Education Grant. She is using the robots with graduate and undergraduate researchers to explore changes in behavior of children affected by autism. Other research includes: integration of a technological flipped classroom to increase student centered learning; the affects of posture, ergonomics and movement on learning engagement; and adaptive yoga to improve quality of life.
