Holman’s research includes understanding the processes of racial socialization in familial and school contexts. She is interested in how families and schools navigate the complexities of raising and educating children of color within our highly racialized society. A related line of research is Dr. Holman’s exploration of how collaborative therapeutic assessment techniques can be effectively applied to school settings to make the psycho-educational evaluation process of optimal benefit to each member of the educational team, with special attention to cultural sensitivity.
