Dr. Cooper's research interests have focused on practical applications of theory in therapy. He has presented his research at a number of state and national conferences. Presentations include: Play therapy approaches to child group therapy, recruiting and retention of multi-cultural students in graduate school, treatment of Axis II disorders in community mental health, psychoanalytic approaches to child therapy, and provision of treatment to juvenile sex-offenders. His current focus is on reducing resistance in therapy and the use of evocative techniques in therapy.
