Her research interests include trauma and trauma informed care among minority populations, mental health issues in the K-12 educational system, and students with disabilities in the K-12 educational system and in post-secondary institutions. Prior to joining the MTSU faculty, Dr. Wilson worked as a licensed professional school counselor and a licensed career development coordinator in North Carolina. She also was a licensed professional counselor in which she worked primarily with children and adolescents who had experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. Lastly, Dr. Wilson is also a National Certified Counselor and Distance Credentialed Counselor. Dr. Wilson is an active member in the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American School Counseling Association (ASCA).
