Dr. Mychelle Smith is an Assistant Professor of Secondary Education at Stephen F. Austin State University. She currently teaches disciplinary literacy for secondary preservice teachers. She recently joined the faculty at SFASU after two years at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where she also taught disciplinary literacy in addition to curriculum design, evaluation, and assessment, instructional technology, and proposal writing. Her research interests include profanity in teen and young adult literature, philosophy of education, secondary ELA education, and qualitative methodology.
